Public HealthCSC Offers Medicare Secondary Payer Reporting To Health Plans
CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced that it has expanded its FirstPortfolio solution"s business process outsourcing (BPO) capabilities to include fully integrated Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) reporting for healthcare payers. FirstPortfolio provides users with a collection of applications hosted and maintained by CSC.
MSP status reporting, which requires the identification and reporting of all potential Medicare beneficiaries within commercial health plans to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), becomes mandatory for a wide variety of insurers and plan administrators in October 2009. With CSC"s MSP reporting capability, health plan organizations can expand BPO application portfolios to meet implementation timelines and address gaps that may impede compliance with new CMS regulations.
"We are pleased to present this timely business capability to the health plan market," said Deward Watts, president of CSC"s Healthcare Group. "This addition to FirstPortfolio provides an end-to-end solution that allows our customers to meet CMS deadlines as well as leverage CSC"s health plan domain knowledge and regulatory and compliance experience."
CSC"s Healthcare Group, which serves healthcare providers, health plans, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, and allied industries around the world, is a global leader in transforming the healthcare industry through the effective use of information to improve healthcare outcomes, decision-making and operating efficiency.
